If you are looking at this page then maybe life isn't feeling so good or there's a feeling that something is unresolved.
Most people have times when life feels difficult to manage, and resources feel at a low ebb. Friends, family or colleagues may be a good support at such times. However, sometimes talking to an independent, trained professional, in a confidential setting, can help you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and make positive changes. Therapy can help you to manage life's challenges, draw on your own resources, improve relationships, discard thoughts and behaviours that no longer work for you and to tolerate those times when life doesn't feel so good. It can also help you to find meaning and purpose in life.
I provide time limited therapy
This comprises an initial consultation followed by 12 further sessions which are usually weekly. At the initial session, lasting an hour, we can plan the focus of our work together. I usually suggest we review our work together at the sixth session. My aim is to provide a safe and creative space in which you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and we can think about a useful way forward. Asking for help can be the first step towards making positive changes and feeling more in charge of your life.
Why time limited therapy?
People seek therapy for many reasons and some people come with a specific piece of work in mind. Increasingly because of work, family, or other commitments some people cannot commit to open ended therapy on a weekly basis, and time limited therapy for a specific issue may be appropriate.
What if I feel that less than 12 sessions are sufficient?
I usually suggest a review after 6 sessions.
